Oh dear! Having watched children falling like flies to The Bug and teachers too, it is now my turn. Its a nasty one! Zaps your energy and leaves your head feeling twice its normal size.
This weekend has been a write-off!
I hope that I am one of those in the last wave of The Bug and that half-term will help us blow away the cobwebs.
So – a short week for the children, we will have to pack in 5 days of learning into 3. A challenge – but we can measure up to it. We will be in school on Thursday and on Friday we participate in the Leigh Trust Conference at Stationers Crown Woods Academy.
Mrs Lambourne – thankfully not struck down this weekend by The Bug, has been preparing material for our meeting on Wednesday on Assessment and Reporting. We promised back in September that we would have a further meeting later in the year to explain what the new system of recording assessment would look like, the language of assessment and how to interpret the new reports you will receive. In time – and hopefully this means by July, we will be able to email you your child’s report. For the February meetings we will print a summary and go through it with you. Your teacher may sit with an I-pad when discussing your child’s progress with you – our system provides a great diagnostic analysis which will give you an indication of how you can help your child at home.
On Wednesday we will also be able to share with you some sample questions that children can expect to meet in May. I think you will find this element quite enlightening, not to say challenging. We look forward to seeing you !
And finally – Valentine’s Day next Sunday! I hope you have all remembered to make your restaurant reservations and your red roses are on order.
Have a wonderful weekend and a good Half Term break.
