Last week, as part of our themed work on ‘How We Express Ourselves’, the children focused their learning on the life and works of William Shakespeare. Throughout the school, many exciting activities were planned, including making fairy castles and creating models of the Globe theatre, as well as designing and making Shakespearean character puppets and mask making!
All classes took part in workshops based on ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, led by a professional actor from the theatre company, ‘West End in Schools’. At the end of each day of workshops, the children came together to perform their scenes; they made a complete retelling of the play and it was wonderful to see every child so engaged! We would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing PTA for funding this event for our children.
The children have told us that they loved learning about William Shakespeare- they are looking forward to wowing you with all of their new knowledge!
