About Us

Hartley Primary School’s history dates back to 1842. It caters for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 11.

Our aim is to create a positive, stimulating and happy learning environment with spacious buildings and grounds, enabling children to succeed and realise their full potential.  We promote their academic, spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development to prepare them for future opportunities, responsibilities and experiences.  We are committed to providing all children with the same opportunities, regardless of gender, race, creed or culture.

Throughout your child’s education we will keep you up to date and informed of progress and development.  It is important to remember that you are welcome to see us at any time, particularly if you have any concerns or worries.  We see the education of every child as being very much a partnership between home and school, it is important that there is good communication between teachers and parents.
