At Hartley Primary Academy, science lessons give children of all ages the opportunity to explore and investigate materials, life and physical processes. Lessons will engage and stimulate questioning, curiosity and wonderment about the world around them. High expectations are set for all children to achieve their full potential.

Children will be taught not only the knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts, but also investigative skills such as planning, observing, fair testing and evaluating; skills which they will undoubtedly use when they reach secondary school.

The attached document gives a brief outline of the topics covered each year in the 2016/17 Science Curriculum.
