Principal’s Blog – 9th January 2016

Dear Parents and Carers

Week one already over!  Have you finished watching the Christmas TV on catchup yet?  I managed ‘Downton’ and ‘Call the Midwife’ in one sniffy sitting.  Pure indulgence!  I finally watched ‘Sherlock’ last night so I am now more or less up to date!

What a fabulous end to the week, the PTA Movie Night  – and really nice choices too, ‘The Borrowers’ and ‘Shaun the Sheep’!  It was a very enjoyable, calm event without powercuts to challenge us.  Thank you to Mrs Maisey and all of the PTA team who supported in preparing a lovely Afternoon Tea which always goes down well, and for all of the supervision and administration.  Thanks also to our teachers who helped organise and supervise also.

More thanks are due to all you from all of us for Christmas Gifts galore.  All so thoughtful – you are so kind and generous to everyone here.  The Office Staff have had so many presents of chocolates that they have decided that they need to follow a ‘de-tox’ regime.  Mrs Cook is already weakening and muttering about substituting her Green Tea with the proper brown stuff next week!

We all enjoy a break but I am being completely honest when I tell you that we were all delighted to see your children on Monday morning.  They were all a little bleary and weary – Christmas holidays are so exciting, visits, visitors, presents and late nights – it is hard to get back into the routine.

Take heart, children – next week will be easier!

The threat of ‘proper winter weather’ is upon us, with weather forecasters looking solemn and gloomy as they discuss freezing temperatures on the move.  We will finally need to dig out wooly coats, hats, scarves, gloves – but lets hope no snow chains!

Enjoy having your children back at home this weekend.
